Data Management, Network Analysis and Visualizations with Nodegoat
Nodegoat is a virtual research environment that is mainly used in the humanities by an international research community. Nodegoat is web-based and allows to create data models specifically adapted to research questions, to perform network analyses and to generate visualizations.
Target group and goals of the workshop
The target group is students, doctoral candidates as well as employees of Classical Studies at JGU. Previous knowledge is not necessary. Goals are:
- To get to know digital research tools for scientific work
- Designing and conceptualizing data models
- Create data sets
- Acquire, analyze and visualize larger data sets
Time and location (attendance only)
May 05, 2023; 10 am - 4 pm, Ancient Sciences Innovation Lab, Hegelstraße 59, 55122 Mainz (room number 00-309). Workshop language is English.
Technology
Please note that bringing your own laptop is required for participation. If you do not have your own device, laptops can be provided in limited numbers. Please register for a free Nodegoat account in advance of the workshop via: https://nodegoat.net/requestaccount
If you already have research data (e.g., textual data, archaeological data, etc.) that you would like to process with Nodegoat, you are welcome to bring it.
